The history of Montblanc watchmaking began in 1858 when Mr. Charles-Ivan Robert founded his watchmaking workshop in Villeret in the Swiss Jura mountains. He didn't know it at the time, but it marked the beginning of Minerva's historic era. It was in the following century that Minerva enjoyed its golden age, becoming one of the leading specialists in the manufacture of professional watches (chronometers and chronographs) capable of measuring short intervals of time with remarkable precision.

At the end of the 19th century, the company became known for its pocket watches with crown winding systems, which made traditional winding keys obsolete. And that was only the beginning.

"Watchmakers have the know-how to make their balance springs in an artisanal way."

Montblanc timepieces today continue the legacy of the Minerva model, born over 160 years ago, through four fine watch collections: Montblanc Star Legacy, Montblanc 1858, Montblanc Bohème and Montblanc Heritage, each range bridging the gap between past and present through design, style and technical innovation.

As the first international multi-brand watch owners' club, the Fine Watch Club is about bridging the gap between watch enthusiasts and their favourite brands by providing privileged behind-the-scenes access to fine watchmaking.

Launched in 2019, the GMT Magazine and WorldTempus watch club has already convinced more than 6,000 members and is expected to double that number by the end of 2022.

Exclusive events, previews, factory visits, limited editions, meetings with industry personalities... These are all experiences to be had at the heart of watchmaking. Among enthusiasts of course!
